Story behind the treasure: In 1958 my mother called me on holiday in Clevedon to say she had seen in an antique shop, what she thought were a pair of drug-jars. She described them, and being a pharmacist I realised they were and asked her to buy them. When they arrived back I realised that they were 18thCentury Italian. 4 similar jars exist in the Museum of Science (Oxford) and others scattered in various countries. They are very special to me as they started me collecting 18th Century drug-jars and they are a constant reminder of my parents and my life in pharmacy.
