Story behind the treasure: These are a few postcards from a collection of over 30 sent from my grandfather to my father in the early 1920’s whilst serving abroad in the Royal Navy. I never knew my grandfather as died in 1945 but these lovingly written cards give me a fascinating insight into the relationship between father and son. How wonderful and exciting it must have been for a young boy to receive these. Sadly my father passed away 28 years ago so this collection is my “Treasure Trove” of memories both of my father and times long gone.
