Story behind the treasure: The story in the family is that this was made by my great-grandfather for the marriage of one of his sons. The young man died before the event so the box stayed within my branch of the family. It is a very basic piece of metalwork with a very crude hinge, but I love the copper plate etched name and the clasped hands above the date. (Not sure if first attempt reached you as it took such a time)
