Story behind the treasure: My mother bought this galleon for my father on their wedding in Germany in 1939. During the war she had to put all her belongings into storage, including the galleon. The storage was subsequently plundered. My father died in action in 1944 and I was born shortly afterwards. Whilst looking in shop windows, my mother spotted 'her' galleon in a second hand shop and bought it for the second time. I grew up with the galleon and on the death of my mother I inherited it. I have always loved it and it has been part of my life.
