'Antique' map

Story behind the treasure: During the summer term of 1990 each group in the year 6 class that I was teaching made one of these ‘antique’ maps. At the end of term I told the class that they could take the maps home if they decided amicably which children had them. One group of boys came to me and said, “We can’t decide who’s going to have it so we’d like you to have it.” It had been a difficult year for me and it was great to get a vote of support from the people that mattered most – my pupils.
