Story behind the treasure: My mother's best friend gave me this doll in the early 1960's. She’d had it from her childhood. She gave it to me because the hair was like mine; that made this doll and I special friends. I was fickle with doll’s names in my youth, renaming them as trends changed. I believe one of her names was Charlotte. I appreciated the antique dress (large though it is) and net socks even at the tender age of eight or nine. The fact that this doll moves her head when the feet move made her all the more appealing.
